Michael Neale is an analogue photographer based in Auckland, New Zealand.  He shoots primarily 35mm and medium format film, preferring film over digital for it's intuitive feeling and the slower, more focused approach it brings to his photography.

After two years of living in London and travelling Europe, Michael returned home in 2017 where he is now working on a long term project focusing on small town New Zealand; areas that have been heavily effected by growing urbanisation, but where community, tradition and history still play a key role in the towns, and their residents daily life.

Michael's first self published photobook 'It's Hard to Leave" is due to be released towards the end of 2018.
